UNIVAR BV “Elite” Brand Oligomers

Originally founded in 2001, Polymer Technologies build its business offering unique UV/EB-curable oligomers that deliver specific performance benefits in a diverse range of applications including printing inks, wood coatings, plastic finishes, laminates, overprint varnishes, and adhesives.  Now trading as Univar BV Elite Brand, they offer a unique range of radiation curable oligomers.  Univar’s goals are to develop products that allow the chemist to formulate environmentally friendly inks, coatings and adhesives; not just for conventional UV/EB markets but also for new applications where solvent based systems are currently used. Working closely with the formulator Univar have developed a range of “Elite” oligomers that impart unique physical characteristics to both the cured and uncured film which has enabled UV/EB technology to be used in areas that would never have been considered a few years ago.At Univar they strive to engineer the following properties into their products:

Low film shrinkage combined with excellent substrate wetting to enhance adhesion

Outstanding wetting with a wide range of pigments

Low Viscosity to reduce the need for reactive diluents.

The product range continues to grow and now covers a wide range of chemistries which include:

Epoxy derived acrylates

Polyester acrylates

Urethane acrylates

Amine modified oligomers

UV curable acrylic oligomers
